A longtime New Mexican, volunteer fireman, attorney and legislator after transitioning from the East Coast.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"fonts-plugin-block \">&#8220;We will never get politics out of the judicial selection process entirely, but the press is wrong to point out the political party that appointed a judge.  I know several Justices; they are not going to make decisions because of politics.&#8221;<br>&#8220;Roe was overturned because nothing in the constitution supported (abortion).&#8221;<br>&#8220;The decision about abortion is where it should be, with the states.&#8221;<br>&#8220;There was much more collegiality when I was in the legislature, and it helped to get things
